About Megan:

People are often surprised to learn that my career actually started in journalism – not marketing or design. 

That’s right – my very first “big girl job” was as a “one man band” news reporter for a local television station in Lafayette Louisiana.

Sounds glamorous right?

It wasn’t.

What I loved about working in news was the process of discovering a story, and then finding a way to tell that story in a way that would make people pay attention.

What I didn’t like, was that with news – there’s no buildup or longevity to what I created. My stories were old news by the next day, and I’d have to start over with something new.

I wanted to create something I could look back on and be proud of.

I still remember the day I pitched the development of a social media presence to the news station I was working for.

They thought I was insane.

It was 2008, and social media was still new territory…Territory that this conservative news station did not want to tread on for fear of losing credibility by being associated with platforms where ANYONE could broadcast news.

Fast forward 10 years: EVERYONE IS USING SOCIAL MEDIA.

You can’t get away from it.

And I’ll be the first to tell you that things have gotten oversaturated and a little out of hand.

But here’s the thing:

You don’t have to be a slave to social media in order to leverage it.

And you can forget all of those oppressive “rules of engagement” because when it comes to social media for LAWYERS, we play by a different set of rules.

We believe in using social media for what it is: A tool. A platform. Another linkback to your website (which is the thing that REALLY matters when it comes to generating new business online).

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about “impressions” or “followers.”

It’s about getting GREAT clients to contact you – consistently.
